Today is the anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and across the country the We Are One coalition is demonstrating against the attacks on worker rights, the cuts to public services, and the undermining of the middle class. Check out http://local.we-r-1.org/ to find an event in your community.
If you prefer to stick close to the campus, there will be a rally for jobs and union rights in Mineola at 3pm. Meet up at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building, 1550 Franklin Avenue, Mineola, NY. (map)
Whatever you do, find a way today to join with others in support of fairness and justice.
Also, Saturday, April 9, as part of the ongoing We Are One demonstrations, NYSUT and the NYS AFL-CIO are calling on all who support workers’ rights to rally together at noon in Times Square (Seventh Avenue and 42nd Street). Wear red. Bring banners. Wear NCCFT shirts. The NCCFT Executive Committee will be there. Join us!
