Good Evening President Williams and Members of the Board.
I hope you have enjoyed meeting the members of the NCCFT Executive Committee this past semester, Richard Newman, Darren Petronella, Caroline Falconetti, and Lynn Bergin. It’s important to hear from all of the members of our committee as we work together to support the rights and health and safety of our classroom, non-classroom, and professional faculty members so that we can best serve our students. Additionally, I would like to thank everyone who continues to work so hard to create and implement plans to bring us safely back to campus in the fall and protect every member of our community while doing so.
I would also like to say thank you to everyone involved as we continually fought to have our pay raises distributed and we have been told we will receive the increase on May 20th.
We know that there are many new initiatives on the table that hopefully will improve recruitment and retention at NCC. One of those important initiatives is dual enrollment and I do hope that by next month’s meeting we can report an agreed upon shared process with the College and the NCCFT that treats our members with the professional respect they deserve so that we can help move this important program forward.
NCC will need the support of every board member to assist us in our efforts to ensure that NCC survives, and thrives. We realize this will be another year filled with challenges needing everyone’s cooperation as we act in the best interests of our students and we move our College forward.
I would like to congratulate one of our own BOT members, John Durso, as being named one of New York State’s Labor Power 100, which recognizes Union labor leaders, and worker rights advocates fighting for a stronger New York.
And lastly, I would like to say Congratulations! To all of the NCCFT members who received promotions this evening, Congratulations!
