This request comes from Jim Hoyt, Transfer Counselor in the Student Personnel Services department and NCCFT Vice President for Nonclassroom faculty. He says:
My children, being children of a child of the 60’s, grew up listening to Bob Dylan, Peter, Paul and Mary and of course Joan Baez. Her version of Joe Hill was always one of my favorites. This version, by Paul Robeson, reminded me of the powerful links between organized labor and the civil rights movement. Both of these had taken on additional significance to me as a result on my work with the union here at Nassau.
