You may have heard that Nassau County is apparently considering a proposal to lease the Mitchel Field Athletic Field to Molloy College. Below is the text of a letter sent today by our Executive Committee to the Rules Committee of the Nassau County Legislature:

Dear Committee Members
This letter is regarding the proposed Mitchel Field Athletic Field Lease to Molloy College.
We recently became aware that there was a proposed “lease” for the field between the County and Molloy College. As you may know, Nassau Community College makes extensive use of that field and we rely on it heavily for the successful execution of our athletic programs. We respectfully request that the execution of this “lease” be tabled pending the College’s full investigation and assessment of its impact on NCC and our students.
