On October 2, activists from around the country will gather in the DC for the One Nation Working Together march. We’d love to see an NCCFT contingent. While we probably can’t organize a busload on such short notice, we can help people who are interested connect with others who want to go. Here’s the info for the march:

On Saturday, October 2, 2010, hundreds of thousands of Americans from across the country will gather at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. to demonstrate our re-commitment to change. The One Nation March will feature human and civil rights leaders, labor leaders, environmental and peace activists, faith leaders, celebrities and sports figures – all marching together to help Put America Back to Work and to Pull America Back Together. And to help reorder our national priorities so that investments in people come first.

Let us know if you’re planning to attend or if you want help finding others who are going. Send an email to the NCCFT office (nccft@ncc.edu) with “Oct 2 March” in the subject line and Elizabeth will start connecting folks.

Meanwhile, in honor of the Chilean miners surviving under ground for over a month with many weeks left to go, I give you a new twist on an old labor song whose themes touch on the troubles of coal and capitalism.
